bags 3rd India Power Awards 2010….
The Council of Power Utilities (CPU) is an
Apex organization of all power utilities of the country. The CPU has, as
part of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of its journal India Power,
instituted India Power Awards in 2008. The award is presented to the winners
under various categories such as overall utility performance, research and
technology, greening the power sector, energy efficiency conservation and
DSM, social and community impact, innovative financing, IT application, etc.
UGVCL has bagged the 3rd India
Power Awards 2010 under the category ‘Energy Efficiency, Conservation and
DSM’, the initiatives taken in DSM for agriculture consumer and also
replacement of existing pumpset with energy efficient pumpset.

The 2nd India Power Awards 2009
was also awarded to UGVCL in recognition for overall utility performance in
Agriculture Dominated Area. The award was presented on 17th
November, 2009 by Shri Bharatsinh Solanki, Hon'ble Union Minister of State
for Power, Government of India which was received by Shri A. K. Verma,
Managing Director, on behalf of UGVCL.
